(February 16, 2017)

EUGENE, Ore., Feb. 16, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- College Choice, a leading authority in college and university rankings and resources, has published a ranking of the 20 Most Affordable Online Master's Degrees in Nursing for 2017.

As the healthcare profession expands and doctors continue to be spread thin, there is a growing need for licensed nursing medical professionals who can fill any number of gaps.

But busy schedules, family obligations, and tight finances prevent many people from seeking or deepening their educational experience, including in the nursing field.

"Getting a master's degree in nursing can open the door to better-paying as well as jobs that are not as physically demanding as front-line and entry-level jobs," Christian Amondson, Managing Editor of College Choice, said of the ranking. "In addition, as nurses fill increasingly important roles in the American healthcare system, the value of master's degrees will only grow."

The ranking for the 20 Most Affordable Master's in Nursing Degrees for 2017 finds Fitchburg State University in the top spot. Lamar University is in second, and Fort Hays University rounds out the top three.
