(July 11, 2018)

LAKE SUCCESS, N.Y., July 11, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- PM Pediatrics, the nation's largest provider of specialized pediatric urgent care, announced that it will open its first West Coast location in Los Angeles, CA this Fall. The future home of PM Pediatrics of Los Angeles at 8731 Pico Blvd will join the company's over 30 existing locations throughout the Northeast and Mid-Atlantic regions. Dr. Joshua Sherman has been named Medical Director of the new practice. He will also serve as the Regional Medical Director in the Los Angeles region, leading the development of future sites, ensuring consistency and excellence, overseeing clinical operations, quality initiatives, education and training.

PM Pediatrics of Los Angeles will be open 365 days a year, from Noon to Midnight. The state-of-the-art practice is staffed by Pediatric Emergency Specialists, including board-certified pediatric emergency physicians and pediatricians, and features onsite digital x-ray and lab. Unlike traditional urgent care practices, PM Pediatrics treats children and young adults, exclusively.

"Our Pico Blvd. site marks the commencement of a major company expansion into the West Coast," said Dr. Jeffrey Schor, founder of PM Pediatrics. "We look forward to introducing the L.A. community to our trusted and specialized healthcare model, and providing unparalleled urgent care for children and young adults." Dr. Schor continued, "Dr. Sherman's unwavering commitment, leadership and expertise in delivering high-quality pediatric healthcare make him the perfect fit to lead the company's growth in this region."

Prior to joining PM Pediatrics, Dr. Sherman was a full-time faculty physician in the Pediatric Emergency Department at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, where he was named the hospital's Associate Director of Quality Improvement for Emergency Medicine. He also served as the emergency medicine liaison to the trauma committee at Children's, raising the care standard for patients with traumatic injuries. Dr. Sherman was also an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University of Southern California's Keck School of Medicine, and developed several research studies including the first-of-its-kind Virtual Reality training program for physicians. During that time, he garnered awards in resident teaching and hospital-wide service excellence. Dr. Sherman earned his medical degree at Sackler School of Medicine at Tel-Aviv University, and received his Bachelor of Science from State University of New York in Binghamton.
