NIH Awards WILL Interactive Prevention of Sexual Harassment and No Fear Act Training Contract

WASHINGTON, March 26, 2019 /PRNewswire/ — WILL Interactive (WILL) has been awarded a contract by the National Institutes of Health (NIH) to customize and deploy WILL’s existing interactive video-based training simulation software in support of NIH’s Prevention of Sexual Harassment and No Fear Act training needs. The competitively sourced, single-award, firm-fixed price contract holds a total federally funded value of $354,000. It includes a one-year base period with two one-year options.

Much of the content in the customized NIH eLearning course will come from Common Ground Healthcare, WILL’s ground breaking harassment, sexual harassment and abusive conduct prevention program specifically designed for the healthcare industry. Common Ground Healthcare was developed in partnership with Yale New Haven Health System (YNHHS) to educate staff on how to recognize and prevent harassment in the healthcare workplace.

“With real-life healthcare scenarios, Common Ground Healthcare takes the education around harassment and bullying to a new level,” said Marna Borgstrom, CEO, YNHHS.

Common Ground Healthcare integrates the appeal of storytelling and movies to create a powerful education and training tool shown to positively influence attitudes and actions. Learners are placed in a cinematic contextual adventure in which they face real life situations.  They make choices and experience consequences, allowing them to practice tough decisions in a safe learning environment before encountering them in real life.

“I consider it an honor for WILL to support NIH efforts to help make their workplaces safe and healthy for employees,” said Sharon Sloane, CEO, WILL Interactive.  “WILL is committed to helping healthcare organizations eliminate harassment and bullying by providing them with engaging evidence-based training.”

Once the customization is completed to satisfy NIH specific requirements, policies and procedures, the finished course will become available for the required training needs of NIH employees and in-house contractors.
