Popular homeopathy clinic returns to Norwich with new GP at the helm

A charitable clinic offering affordable homeopathy to the people of Norfolk is set to reopen this week (Thursday 25th April). The clinic, based at The Rowan House Centre in the village of Hethersett, six miles from Norwich, is funded by the British Homeopathic Association (BHA) and originally opened in 2011. When the GP in charge, Katalin Borbely, left the area earlier this year, the service was forced to close until her replacement was found.

Dr Michel Raggoo, a homeopath and GP, will take over the running of the clinic from tomorrow (Thursday 25th April). Dr Raggoo has worked as a local GP for 15 years and began practising homeopathy in 2013. He said:
“I feel very privileged to be taking over the Norwich clinic. I think the BHA is a really worthy charity and I am delighted to be able to focus on an area of medicine that has become really important to me”.

Originally funded by a generous legacy made to the BHA, the clinic is run on a charitable basis. Although patients are not charged, they are encouraged to make donations towards their treatment. All donations go directly to the clinic.

Cristal Sumner, Chief Executive of the BHA said: “Everyone has the right to choose high-quality healthcare and with the limited availability of homeopathic treatment within the NHS, services like Dr Raggoo’s clinic are more important than ever. Patient numbers at the clinic have steadily increased year-on-year and we’re proud to be able to continue to offer affordable homeopathic treatment to the people of Norfolk”.
