CINCINNATI, May 13, 2019 /PRNewswire/ — Health Carousel, a premier provider of healthcare workforce solutions, today announced the acquisition of Lucidity, one of the leading technology platforms that connects physicians seeking part-time or temporary work directly with medical practices looking to fill open shifts.
Lucidity’s technology platform greatly simplifies the process of connecting physicians with medical practices seeking temporary staffing, while also using Artificial Intelligence (AI) technology to help providers and medical practices make better staffing decisions. Lucidity had previously raised funding from Sustineo Ventures.
Lucidity will continue to operate as a standalone company under its own brand after the transaction. The business will join the Health Carousel Locums Network (HCLN) as part of its new omnichannel offering, where physicians have the option of a full-service concierge and digital experience options when seeking out temporary assignments. HCLN, under the NEXTLocums and Onyx M.D. brands, is the 13th largest locum tenens (temporary physician staffing) company in the country, according to estimates from Staffing Industry Analysts.
“We are thrilled to welcome Lucidity into the Health Carousel family,” said Bill DeVille, Chief Executive Officer of Health Carousel. “Digital transformation is impacting all industries and we believe healthcare staffing is no different. Expectations continue to grow as consumers expect convenience and digital self-service tools when they interact with companies in all industries. We are excited to offer physicians the choice to work with us how they choose – both a high touch concierge option and a digital only self-service option.”
This acquisition supports Health Carousel’s mission of “Improving Lives & Making Healthcare Work Better.”
“Right now, there is a one size fits all approach to helping physicians find temporary assignments,” DeVille continued. “Time is a precious commodity for physicians and Lucidity has proven that physicians are seeking a seamless digital solution to find temporary assignments.”
“We are excited to partner with Health Carousel to be able to accelerate our mission of providing physicians with more control over their temporary work,” said Rajeev Dharmapurikar, the CTO and one of the founders of Lucidity. “Health Carousel is the right partner for Lucidity as their visionary and forward-looking leadership is committed to technology driven innovation. Their belief in our mission augmented by their expertise, resources and medical practice relationships will be instrumental in taking the platform to the next level.”
Connected to the acquisition, Health Carousel is seeking top technology talent to join the team either in Cincinnati, Ohio or remotely. More information can be found on the Health Carousel jobs page.
