MADISON, Wis.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Redox, the company that is changing the way healthcare vendors and provider organizations share data, today announced the appointment of two executives to its ever-growing team. Joining the company are Elif Eracar, former senior vice president of professional services & customer support, privacy officer at American Well, as chief customer officer (CCO); and Ben Waugh, former security architect at Twilio, as chief security officer (CSO).

“At Redox, we’re helping to create a world where technology works for patients and providers,” said Luke Bonney, CEO of Redox. “Elif and Ben bring an outstanding set of skills and knowledge as we continue to build strength in two critical areas of the business – customer success and service, and security. We’re on track to more than double revenue this year, and we continue to be focused on helping our customers integrate at scale with the confidence the healthcare data entrusted to them remain secure and private.”

Eracar will represent the more than 500 healthcare delivery organizations that use Redox to integrate and exchange six million patient records per day across 42 different electronic health record (EHR) vendors. She comes from a career in product management, engineering and sales support, spanning 20 years, and most recently in taking complex products to market and providing training, customer support, and professional services.

Prior to her 12 1/2-year tenure at American Well, Eracar served as the vice president of delivery and support services for North America & EMEA, and in a number of other roles at Voxware Inc. She also served as a management consultant for Camp, Dresser, & McKee, where she designed and implemented best practices for New Balance, Christmas Tree Shops and the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority. Eracar holds a B.S. degree in industrial engineering and information systems, and an M.S. in information systems from Northeastern University.

“A leader in the digital health movement, Redox is at a pivotal time as the industry is working to create better policies around data exchange and interoperability,” said Eracar. “Redox’s developer-first platform and network approach continues to drive value from our growing number of customers in the provider and vendor sectors, and I see this upward momentum only getting stronger.”

As CSO, Waugh will be focused on building a world-class security organization at Redox, as well as supporting all companies in the Redox network to build robust, modern security capabilities. While Redox currently has a strong security practice in place, including HITRUST and SOC2 Type II certifications, Waugh aims to up-level Redox’s security posture by improving risk-based security programs, implementing a zero-trust security model and driving a privacy-first approach.

Before joining Redox, Waugh was the security architect at Twilio, where he was responsible for the security of all technology systems as the company grew from a start-up to a publicly traded, enterprise-grade organization. During his tenure at Twilio, Waugh developed practices and standards for risk-based, scalable and automated security in cloud-native environments, handling sizable volumes of sensitive data. Prior to Twilio, he transformed the application security programs for one of Australia’s largest financial institutions, building in-house solutions for automated security testing, security incident response and vulnerability management.

“Now, more than ever, all organizations in the healthcare sector must make security job one to survive,” said Waugh. “As a company that offers a modern API for healthcare, Redox must protect the sensitive data flowing through our platform and to other devices, and ensure our security practices meet the public’s expectation for trust.”
