NCQA recertification reaffirms company’s ongoing commitment to credentialing best practices

LOUISVILLE, Ky.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#CVOAdvantum Health, a leader in revenue cycle management and credentialing services for healthcare providers, has met 11 out of 11 credentialing verification standards by the National Committee on Quality Assurance (NCQA). Advantum’s certified Credential Verification Organization (CVO) services are delivered through its Med Advantage wholly owned subsidiary.

Through Med Advantage, Advantum provides a unique technology solution delivering CVO and Provider Enrollment Services under a single platform. Using the company’s proprietary technology, including Robotic Process Automation, Advantum expedites the credentialing process. Advantum frees healthcare providers of the arduous but vital process of timely gathering, reviewing and submitting information for professional credentials that providers need for billing and payment of patient-care services.

NCQA’s CVO Certification is a voluntary quality assessment program providers can use to assess CVOs and other organizations that verify physicians’ credentials. The program evaluates a CVO’s management of its data collection and verification operation, and its process to continuously improve services. Following rigorous on-site evaluations, a national oversight committee of physicians analyzes findings and determines certification based on the CVO’s compliance with NCQA standards. Certifications/recertifications are granted for a two-year period.

Continuing a History of Leadership

Advantum’s Med Advantage subsidiary was among the first 10 organizations to undergo CVO certification since NCQA began the program in the 1990s. The company’s services have an unbroken certification record since that time.

A Commitment to Excellence and Outcomes

John Barrett, Advantum Health vice president of Business Development, stated that “Receiving this industry recognition demonstrates our ongoing commitment to performance and productivity through technology. Our Credentialing team works hard every day to deliver our customers industry-leading service by leveraging state-of-the-art and proprietary technology.”

Margaret E. O’Kane, NCQA president, said that “Achieving CVO certification from NCQA demonstrates that Advantum Health’s Med Advantage subsidiary has the systems, process and personnel in place to thoroughly and accurately verify providers’ credentials and help health plan clients meet their accreditation goals.”
