eClinicalWorks Announces Its Continued Commitment to Nationwide Interoperability

Available to all customers, the seamless exchange of data enhances care delivery

ORLANDO, Fla.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#CommonWelleClinicalWorks®, a leader in healthcare IT solutions, announces its continued commitment to nationwide interoperability to facilitate care across networks. eClinicalWorks continues to enhance the provider experience with seamless integration with the Carequality Interoperability Framework and the CommonWell Health Alliance® nationwide network, helping to ensure complete and accurate patient information at the point of care.

The exchange of health information continues to increase, with over 50 million documents exchanged by eClinicalWorks providers in September 2019 between the two initiatives combined. Over the past year, 2,000 eClinicalWorks practices have enabled the capability to join these initiatives and exchange data with other clinicians nationwide. The growth can be attributed to the on-demand self-service option that eClinicalWorks has made available to its customers. Approximately 2,500 hospitals and an estimated 700,000 providers nationwide are already connected through these initiatives.

“By making CommonWell services available to all of their customers, eClinicalWorks is providing its clinicians and our healthcare system a huge advantage in delivering optimal care,” said Jitin Asnaani, Executive Director of CommonWell Health Alliance. “By having access to health data, irrespective of geography, clinician or health system, clinicians, practitioners and individuals are empowered to help improve care coordination, the patient experience and health outcomes.”

“The fact that eClinicalWorks makes it easy for its customers to enable participation in nationwide exchange is very important,” said Dave Cassel, Executive Director of the Carequality Interoperability Framework. “Some of the issues in adopting health IT interoperability boil down to the fact that we simply haven’t made it easy enough, or cheap enough, for providers to participate. Reducing this friction is fundamental to what we do at Carequality, and it’s exciting to see the progress being made in the eClinicalWorks user community as a result.”

“At eClinicalWorks, we remain committed to the seamless exchange of data,” said Girish Navani, CEO and cofounder of eClinicalWorks. “As a member of the CommonWell Health Alliance and implementer of the Carequality Interoperability Framework, eClinicalWorks ensures providers have complete and accurate patient information at the point of care.”
