BRAINTREE, Mass.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#CHIME16–With the recent release of their report, Consulting for Cerner Software 2019, KLAS—the healthcare IT industry’s acknowledged research and insights firm—has recognized S&P Consultants as a top-performing organization, as ranked by actual clients.

With more logged responses than any other consulting team focused on Cerner software, the characterization of S&P Consultants as ethical, candid, and knowledgeable is particularly noteworthy.

2019 marks the fourth year of being ranked by the prestigious peer-reviewed healthcare technology organization for S&P Consultants.

To assemble the report, KLAS talks to organizations that have engaged either Cerner’s in-house consultants—or third-party consultants (including a “big four” firm)—and asks clients to grade those teams on their implementation experiences, including how well those vendors live up to expectations.

Graded categories include aspects such as “Value,” “Relationship,” and “Loyalty,” with S&P Consultants receiving “A” grades there, and a “B+” (87%) in Services and Operations.

“I am really touched that so many of our clients took the time to engage with the in-depth KLAS assessment,” said Andy Splitz, Cofounder and CEO of S&P Consultants. “We garnered more than double the responses of the next-highest team, which, to me, is a powerful testament that our clients are highly satisfied and willing to publicly acknowledge the contributions that S&P has made to their organizations.”

According to the report, multiple respondents said they turned to S&P “to rescue a struggling implementation.”

Earlier this year, S&P was rated in another KLAS report, their annual “Best in KLAS” review, where the firm scored a 92.9 out of 100 in the HIT Implementation Support and Staffing category.

As part of KLAS’s research, candid and anonymized feedback from confirmed S&P clients is collected.

One Director of Patient Accounts had this to say about S&P Consultants’ performance after they switched from another consulting team in the middle of a Cerner implementation project:

“…When we brought S&P Consultants into our implementation, there was a night-and-day difference. In general, S&P Consultants’ people, framework, and ability to have candid conversations were the things that set them apart.”

—Director of Patient Accounts, HIT Staffing Engagement1

Michael Augustyniak, MD, S&P’s Chief Medical Information Officer, says much of the firm’s success with implementing Cerner EHR and Clinically-Driven Revenue Cycle solutions can be attributed to S&P’s ability to staff projects with experienced nurses, technicians, and physicians—as integral members of the team—to work alongside clients on a peer-to-peer basis.

“So much of the success of any Cerner project can be traced back to careful consideration about how the people in a healthcare organization need to work. We have a truly thorough process for understanding—at a granular level—how our clients work in the real world. Everyone from nurses and anesthesiologists to coders and billers have priorities and ways of working that need to be respected. At S&P Consultants, we take the term ‘clinically driven’ to heart in making sure that the technology is always in service to helping clinicians provide great care. And that focus extends all the way through the organization to final billing—so that hospitals can have the financial stability they need to keep serving patients in the future,” Augustyniak says.

“KLAS acknowledgement and industry recognition at this level, to me, speaks to the maturity and depth of our entire team,” said CEO Splitz. “To have clients so generously reflect back on the hard work, honesty, and ‘can-do’ spirit of our people fulfills the vision we had at the founding of the company—striving to deliver real value and help clients succeed with Cerner.”
