Client partner Duke University Health System and business intelligence thought leader to give presentations at annual innovation conference

OAKLAND, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#CVIS–LUMEDX, a leading provider of healthcare analytics and cardiovascular information systems (CVIS), is pleased to announce that client partner Duke University Health System has been selected to present at the upcoming 2020 HIMSS Global Health Conference & Exhibition.

The education session by Jill Engel, Associate Vice President of Heart Operations, Nursing and Patient Care Services; and Joe Kelly, Director of Cardiovascular Informatics & Quality Improvement, is scheduled for Friday, March 13, at 10:45 a.m. in room W209C of the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL. The 60-minute lecture may be eligible for credits from the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME). Visit www.himssconference.org/program/continuing-education/credits for more information.

“The Power of High-Quality, Interoperable Data” will focus on the role-based workflow solution that includes structured reporting, concurrent data abstraction, and analytics insights—developed in a partnership between Duke University Health System and LUMEDX—and how it is driving clinical and operational excellence. The solution, which puts information at providers’ fingertips, is currently being used in the cardiothoracic surgery department and the catheterization lab, with implementation in adult and pediatric echocardiography under way.

HIMSS20 will be held March 9–13 and will bring together nearly 45,000 professionals from more than 90 countries for education and collaboration on innovation that is shaping the future of healthcare.

During the HIMSS20 Big Data Symposium, a pre-conference program, LUMEDX Director of Business Intelligence and Analytics Matthew Esham will present “Managing Knowledge Hoarders, Deconstructing Departmental Silos, and Creating Data Context to Make Way for Business Intelligence Maturity.” Esham, a former cardiovascular service line manager at Christiana Care, will share some of the things he’s learned from working with more than 100 heart centers since joining LUMEDX in 2017.

The session will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, March 9, in room W308A at the Orange County Convention Center. The program has been approved for ACCME credits.

LUMEDX will be hosting a full schedule of presentations at Booth 373 from industry innovators such as Dr. James Tcheng, Practicing Interventional Cardiologist at Duke University Health System and Professor of Medicine at Duke University; Rick Jones, RPH, Business Support Manager, Cardiovascular Service, Surgery and Pharmacy, at Orlando Health; and others.
