VersaSuite Achieves Landmark MU2015 Certification

AUSTIN, Texas, March 10, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — Today VersaSuite (HIS/EHR/EPM/ERP Software Developer) announced that they had received approval from the Drummon Group that their “Power of One Software and EHR System” VersaSuite version 9.0 has completed the certification process to become ONC Certified.

The 2015 Edition ONC Health Certification is the third phase of the meaningful use EHR incentive program. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC) published the final rule on meaningful use stage 3 on October 6, 2015.

“This is an important step in our HIS/EHR/EPM/ERP Development,” says Ken Henderson EVP Marketing & Sales at VersaSuite. “This now means our software meets all the necessary requirements for our partner hospitals and clinics to qualify for the Federal Governments Electronic Health Record Incentive Program.”

“We feel that this will allow VersaSuite to compete with even the largest of our competitors by helping hospitals and clinics qualify for the EHR Incentives Program. The certification process wasn’t easy. Our approval took over 18 months to complete and we are now certified on 54 Certification Criteria and 25 Clinical Quality Measures.”

Hospitals and clinics must obtain a certified EHR system, use that system to meet the meaningful use criteria for a continuous, 90-day period in the first year, and submit a report to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). In addition, providers must submit reports on either clinical quality measures or hospital quality measures.

Then and only then do they get their meaningful use incentive payment — and those who fail to demonstrate meaningful use are subject to financial penalties under the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health (HITECH) Act.

Henderson continued, “The combination of our Power of One Database and its complete HIS/EHR/EPM/ERP system is a compelling reason for hospital to reconsider their current system to improve interoperability and now receive incentive payments from CMS.”
