PHOENIX, March 31, 2020 /PRNewswire/ — CompuGroup Medical US (CGM) today announces its partnership with the Arizona Medical Association (ArMA) to bring telemedicine to physicians statewide at no initial charge.
Telemedicine, or telehealth, is a new healthcare platform that enables virtual consultations. When doctors can reach patients from anywhere at any time, in-office visits are no longer required, and this eliminates the risk of spreading the COVID-19 coronavirus to practice staff and other patients.
On behalf of its member physicians, ArMA promotes leadership in the art and science of medicine and advocates for economically sustainable medical practices, the freedom to deliver care in the best interests of patients, and health for all Arizonans.
“CGM and ArMA agreed that CGM ELVI Telemedicine is in the best interest of physicians and patients in Arizona,” said Chief Executive Officer Benedikt Brueckle. “CGM’s commitment to deliver our telemedicine solution to physicians at no initial cost satisfies ArMA’s mission to provide Arizonans with the best possible care at a time when a routine visit to the doctor’s office could put a patient and practice staff at risk of contracting COVID-19.”
Arizona Governor Doug Ducey facilitated the use of telemedicine with the recent public health emergency declaration and corresponding executive order, which not only promotes the use of telemedicine in Arizona, but also requires that co-pays for telemedicine visits be lower than co-pays for typical in-person visits.
In addition to providing its CGM ELVI Telemedicine software at no charge, CGM has made it easier for providers to adopt the new system by launching a dedicated website, cgmtelehealth.com, and a dedicated phone line, +1 (602) 680-2255.
CompuGroup Medical US has its headquarters in Phoenix, Arizona, with additional offices in Maryland, South Carolina, and California.
