Virtustream Announces Multi-Year Cloud Partnership with AdventHealth to Optimize its IT Environment for Hundreds of Care-Related Facilities and Hospitals

MCLEAN, Va.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Virtustream, an enterprise-class cloud company and a Dell Technologies business, today announced AdventHealth’s selection of the Virtustream Healthcare Cloud as its standard platform for powering its new single, integrated Epic electronic health records (EHR) platform which will be implemented over the next three years.

The multi-year agreement with Virtustream delivers a managed cloud platform, purpose-built to host business-critical workloads like modern EHR applications. The solution provides a flexible and highly secure cloud platform that aligns to AdventHealth’s long-term strategy to leverage the Virtustream Healthcare Cloud to increase IT business agility while improving application availability and end-user experience. The solution is metered through a unique cloud consumption model to deliver billing that is based on actual usage.

AdventHealth is using Virtustream’s xStreamCare managed services to drive operational efficiencies, optimize workloads and free internal IT team members to focus on strategic and innovative projects that support caregivers and empower patients. Virtustream is also providing end-to-end managed services and hosting for AdventHealth’s deployment of Epic Hyperspace by leveraging VMware’s Horizon Apps as the unified workspace layer to provide end users and clinicians with fast, easy and secure access to patient information.

The health system is implementing the Epic EHR platform at 37 hospitals and hundreds of care-related locations.
