Patient Create Powered by Bridge Connector Now Available in the Epic App Orchard

Streamlined integration solution automates patient creation for users whose patient intake process begins outside the EHR

NASHVILLE, Tenn.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#BridgeConnectorBridge Connector, a technology company offering data-driven workflow automation for health IT interoperability, today announced its Patient Create application is now available in the Epic App Orchard. The application streamlines patient creation and reduces duplicate records to help health systems using Epic save time and prevent errors, particularly during the intake and onboarding process.

With Patient Create, users can leverage Bridge Connector’s extensive library of pre-existing integrations to automate the exchange and creation of patient health records across disparate data systems, reducing the chance of patient matching errors and streamlining the patient intake process. With this new functionality, users can easily track new leads from call centers and marketing campaigns using a variety of preferred engagement channels, all while reducing the risk of duplicate records often caused by dual manual documentation.

“Adding Patient Create to the App Orchard offers users a new tool to help streamline workflows and automate patient intake,” said Josh Douglas, chief technology officer at Bridge Connector. “We are excited to make our integration solutions more easily accessible for the many hospitals and health systems that use Epic, and believe this is an important milestone toward our mission to improve care processes and interoperability for the health care community.”

Health systems are increasingly prioritizing patient engagement and recruitment efforts, and multiple disparate data systems are often used to conduct such outreach activities. Patient Create allows health care providers to more easily leverage their preferred systems for patient engagement, and once basic patient demographic information is entered, Patient Create automatically matches the patient to an existing medical record number (MRN) in Epic or creates a new patient if none exists. This eliminates the need for office staff to re-enter patient details for downstream workflows in Epic, such as scheduling, and enhances providers’ operational efficiency.
