While thousands of ambulatory healthcare professionals normally attend the in-person event, this year the entire curriculum, including accredited sessions, has moved online. The theme for UGM 2020 is “ACT Today, THRIVE tomorrow.” It is a call to action for attendees to control their destiny as healthcare rapidly transforms.

Nov. 10: Opening Keynote by Don Berwick, M.D.

UGM 2020 will kick off with a keynote by Don Berwick, M.D., the Former Administrator, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services and the Founding CEO for the Institute for Healthcare Improvement. Dr. Berwick will discuss successes in healthcare quality improvement and the challenges that still lie ahead. Dr. Berwick uses his unique storytelling style to take his audiences around the world, highlighting innovations, patient safety, the cost of healthcare, and the true meaning of patient-centered care.

Nov. 12: Closing Keynote by Dr. Anthony Suchman, M.D., MA, FACP

In addition to an executive session offered at UGM 2020, best-selling author and researcher Dr. Anthony Suchman will share his partnership-based clinical approach, known as Relationship-Centered Care, that focuses on organizational change and how people can work together more effectively across all levels of healthcare. He works with clinicians, administrators, patient advocates and board members in healthcare organizations worldwide to advance relationship-centered care to patients and their families.
