Eagle Telemedicine Names Jason Povio New President and Chief Operating Officer

ATLANTA, Dec. 3, 2020 /PRNewswire-PRWeb/ — Eagle Telemedicine announced today that Jason Povio is the company’s new president and chief operating officer.

Since joining Eagle in early 2019, Jason Povio has served as senior vice president of operations with effective oversight of the business, including operations, program implementation, post-implementation support, and credentialing as well as marketing and business development.

“Eagle started as a physician-led organization and my role has been to solidify a professional, structured platform,” said Povio. “Eagle has developed a solid foundation over the past 10 years, and in the past year we have moved the company forward, refining and maturing our operations. We projected expansion in 2020 and have achieved tremendous growth. It’s been very satisfying and gratifying.”

During Povio’s tenure at Eagle Telemedicine, the company implemented a targeted business development strategy, expanded its clinical leadership, doubled the roster of telemedicine physicians, and created a clinical satisfaction survey to support continuous improvement initiatives.

“Over the past year, Jason has accomplished great things,” said Dr. Talbot “Mac” McCormick, chief executive officer of Eagle Telemedicine. “In his role as senior vice president of operations, he worked closely with the entire Eagle team to position Eagle Telemedicine for efficiency and rapidly respond to the growth we are seeing across all our specialties. The COVID-19 pandemic has only amplified the growth we are seeing. Jason’s background is well-suited for this expanded role.”

The company expected and prepared for increased interest in telemedicine services this year. The COVID-19 cases expedited demand for remote physicians to provide infectious disease, intensive care, and virtual hospitalist telemedicine.

In addition to positioning Eagle Telemedicine to manage unexpected demand for virtual medicine, Povio also spearheaded the company’s application for The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval® for accreditation, which is currently under review. In addition, the company is also making enhancements to its cloud-based technology platform—creating a more efficient operating environment for the company’s telemedicine physicians.

Povio has a background in systems engineering along with broad experience in healthcare, working in large integrated healthcare systems in several operational and executive positions. Before joining Eagle Telemedicine, he served as executive director of acute medicine at Mission Health in Asheville, NC. His experience also included senior performance excellence consultant at CHE Trinity Health in Livonia, MI.

Povio received his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering and Master of Science in Engineering Management from the University of South Florida along with several graduate certificates in quality and change management.

Povio also holds a Lean Healthcare Certification and is a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from the University of Michigan.
