Camber Spine Ramps Up Education and Training Series for OLIF Technique

health news

KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#3DPrintingCamber Spine, a leading innovator in spine and medical technologies, has announced a new spine surgical training series focused on the Oblique Lateral Interbody Fusion Surgery (OLIF) technique. The multi-city series kicks off in Miami at the Miami Anatomical Research Institute on February 27th.

The training series, part of the Camber Education Program, is designed to give surgeons an opportunity to further their experience accessing the anterior spine (L2-S1) through an oblique approach. The program faculty will use didactic sessions, hands-on cadaveric training and case review to provide a full-day session to benefit surgeon attendees. Access surgeons are also welcome to attend when accompanied by a spine surgeon.

Additional 2021 dates and locations confirmed for Camber’s OLIF series include May 1st in Las Vegas; September 18th in Austin; and November 6th again in Miami. For questions, more information or to register for any of the dates, surgeons can contact Brooks McAdam at bmcadam@cambermedtech.com.

The OLIF procedure takes advantage of the natural corridor for an oblique surgical approach, anterior to the psoas muscle, which is performed while the patient is in a lateral position. The technique gives surgeons the ability to access multiple levels through one incision without having to reposition the patient and offers excellent disc space visualization.

“With our national rollout of the complete device system to support the OLIF technique this March, education is a top priority for us,” said Daniel A. Pontecorvo, Camber’s CEO. “Our patented and award-winning OLIF technology platform has the potential to change the way spine care is delivered and we want to ensure surgeons have ample opportunities to adopt the technique.”

Committed to OLIF education in 2021, Camber has also announced a one-on-one training program for select surgeons for a proctorship with some of Camber’s faculty members (including Dr. John I. Williams, Dr. John Peloza and Dr. Jeff McConnel), and additional dates and locations for the OLIF training series will also be announced in the coming weeks.
