OVERLAND PARK, Kan.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–WellSky, a global health and community care technology company, announced that its WellSky Hospice & Palliative V.500 technologies have achieved Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC-Health IT) 2015 Edition Health IT Module Certification via Drummond Group LLC. Drummond Group (DG) is an Authorized Certification Body (ACB) empowered to test software for compliance with the requirements of the federal government’s program. The stamp of approval designates that the software offers the interoperability functionality that enables eligible providers and hospitals to meet the requirements of various regulatory programs that require use of certified electronic health record (EHR) technology (CEHRT).
As the U.S. healthcare system increasingly shifts to value-based reimbursement models that prioritize care quality over volume, the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services’ (CMS) interoperability rules require providers to have CEHRT systems to participate in advanced care models. For example, to take part in Medicare’s Primary Care First (PCF) model, hospices must use a CEHRT platform. Now WellSky delivers a CEHRT solution to help hospice and palliative care providers succeed as the industry continues its rapid evolution amid the ongoing COVID-19 public health crisis.
“It’s WellSky’s mission to equip our clients with best-in-class technology that powers better outcomes. By earning this CEHRT designation, we’re expanding our ability to help our hospice and palliative clients succeed and deliver high-quality end-of-life care to their patients,” said Bill Miller, CEO of WellSky. “WellSky is on the forefront of transformation in healthcare, and this certification is part of our ongoing initiative to support providers and patients in the context of value-based care and advanced care models.”
To earn the certification, WellSky was tested to be in accordance with applicable standards and certification criteria put forth by the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS). With more than 17 years of testing experience across various industries, DG brings a high level of technical expertise to this process. Its healthcare experience also runs deep, having certified hundreds of EHRs since becoming an ACB in 2010.
WellSky — which met the requirements for the 2015 CEHRT designation — offers a customizable and web-based software suite that supports compliance and high-quality clinical care, while also helping to lower care costs. The WellSky Hospice & Palliative solutions deliver a portal for both patients and caregivers, a reconciliation application, access to WellSky’s API, service line-specific workflows, direct secure messaging, and platform-wide CEHRT benefits.
This Health IT Module is 2015 Edition compliant and has been certified by an ONC-ACB in accordance with the applicable certification criteria adopted by the Secretary of Health and Human Services. This certification does not represent an endorsement by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
