Fluidx’s regulatory and clinical affairs director will take the reins of the Regulatory, Compliance and Quality Committee, utilizing his expertise to help guide the regulatory and quality activities of BioUtah, the state’s premier life sciences trade association

SALT LAKE CITY–(BUSINESS WIRE)–BioUtah today announced that Christopher Phillips, director of regulatory affairs and clinical affairs at Fluidx Medical Technology, has been appointed chair of BioUtah’s Regulatory, Compliance and Quality Committee. Phillips takes the reins from Rai Chowdhary, CEO of the Key Performance Improvement System, whose term is ending after faithfully serving in this leadership capacity for the past two years. Brad Bath, director of regulatory affairs at TEVA Pharmaceuticals, will remain as vice-chair of the committee.

“We would like to thank Rai Chowdhary for his excellent and devoted service over the past two years,” said Kelvyn Cullimore, president and CEO of BioUtah. “Rai effectively brought together key members of our industry to revitalize this important committee. He also played a significant role in shaping the very popular regulatory track of the annual Life Sciences Summit (ULSS). We’re thrilled that Rai will continue to serve as a member of the committee.”

In addition to its contributions in planning for the ULSS, the committee fosters education and training for BioUtah members, professionals in the industry and those generally interested in the life sciences. “I am enthusiastic about accepting this appointment as I believe in the good that can come from collaborations within our industry to educate and inform,” said Chris Phillips, director of regulatory affairs and clinical affairs at Fluidx Medical Technology. “I invite dedicated regulatory, compliance, and quality professionals to join us in this work. BioUtah has really grown in recent years, as has the life sciences industry in Utah. Regulatory, compliance, and quality are key areas for further growth of our life sciences community, and this committee is a great forum for advancing these areas. I look forward in engaging with professionals from all disciplines of our industry to build a stronger future together.”
