Virtual format designed to build on last year’s record setting participation

WESTWOOD, Mass.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–As we all begin transitioning to the post-vaccination phase of the COVID-19 pandemic, nurses are once again taking the lead in showing us healthier, safer ways of caring for each other during uncertain times. Clinicians from across the globe will be sharing their strategies and inspirational stories during MEDITECH’s virtual 2021 Nurse Forum: Setting the Pace, on June 16-18.

“Throughout the pandemic, nurses have been there for all of us in our most vulnerable moments. This event will honor the ways the nursing community has gone above and beyond over the past year and a half, both on the frontlines and behind the scenes,” said Cathy Turner, BSN, MBA, RN-BC, Associate Vice President, MEDITECH. “I look forward to hearing their accomplishments and sharing our latest offerings as we mutually move forward.”

Keynote presenters include motivational speaker and best-selling author Jody Urquhart, who will discuss strategies for feeling good while still caring for others. In addition, President and CEO of Healthcare Excellence Canada Jennifer Zelmer, PhD, will explore universal patient safety and quality issues that arose during the pandemic, and what new opportunities we now have for achieving healthcare excellence. In the final keynote, HCA Healthcare’s CNE Jane Englebright, PhD, RN, CENP, FAAN will talk about delivering on the promise to heal the healthcare system, with a focus on reusing data and reducing documentation burdens.

Attendees will also hear from nurses and MEDITECH executives about how Expanse Patient Care, Surveillance, and other solutions can support nurses and their organizations. Sessions will cover a wide range of timely topics including health equity, maintaining efficiency, patient engagement, and genomics. MEDITECH has applied for nursing contact hours for this event.*

“At the Nurse Forum, I’m always excited to see what everyone else is doing. Because we all have challenges in common, as well as issues that are unique to us, and we all tackle things a little bit differently,” said Alicia Brubaker, RN and Director of Clinical Informatics at Valley Hospital (Ridgewood, NJ). “There are always great takeaways to bring back to our organizations. And especially this year, we’ve all been going through this pandemic together, so now we’ll all be moving forward together.”
