Chicago-based Chill Launches Meditation and Mindfulness “Mini Studios” to Tackle Stress Where You Live and Work

health news

CHICAGO–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#corporatewellness–Today, Chill, a company that specializes in mindfulness and meditation services, announced the launch of Chill “Mini Studios,” purpose-built spaces in apartment and office communities that provide the ideal environments to relax and recharge.

More than ever, stress and anxiety play large roles in the lives of Americans. Return to work, health concerns, crime and other major factors of change have taken substantial tolls on our mental health. Technology platforms, workplace initiatives, and consumer wellness services provide relief from the swell of stressors.

Still, the growing number of people who practice wellness strategies like mindfulness, meditation and yoga struggle to find quiet, comfortable and intentional places to practice–often, resorting to crowded break rooms, noise cancelling headphones, and uncomfortable furniture. Without a dedicated space, many people give up on healthy, daily, wellness.

Prior to the pandemic, Chill operated a coveted studio in Chicago’s River North Neighborhood, focusing on providing relevant, quality wellness instruction to professionals in high-stress jobs. Classes focused on topics such as: Stress Management and Diversity, Equity & Inclusion. At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Chill paused its studio operation but had already launched Chill Anywhere, a digital platform that services hundreds of major enterprises and their employees. With today’s announcement, Chill brings back purpose-built physical wellness spaces to complement its growing digital platform that includes live, video-based content.

“We’re really excited to once again provide high quality spaces for our Chill users. I think we’ve all learned throughout the COVID-19 pandemic that, in order to have mental chill, we need dedicated rooms to practice exercises like mindfulness, meditation and yoga. We can’t clear our minds when our dogs are barking in the living room or we’re scrambling for a quiet spot in the office to meditate. We’ve spent the last year and a half investing in our digital instruction, and now we’re marrying that expertise with our background in the studio,” said Laura Sage, founder of Chill.

Chill has partnered with luxury developers, Fifield Companies, to launch the first Chill Mini Studio in the Luxe on Madison apartment community in Chicago’s West Loop neighborhood. The Chill Mini Studio will feature ergonomic meditation pads, calming interiors and lighting, and digital instruction from Chill’s team of highly trained instructors.

Jon Schneider, Senior VP of Asset Management at Fifield thinks Chill Mini Studios will be a big hit with their residents. “At Fifield, we focus on providing world-class wellness experiences to our residents. Chill is the perfect complement to our luxury communities. Many of our residents work high-stress jobs and are looking for unique and healthy ways to unwind. We’re excited to partner with a group that has this level of expertise in providing mental wellness amenities.”

Chill intends to expand its Mini Studios to a variety of other physical spaces. Sage continues, “We’re working closely with our clients to identify impactful amenities for their employees and residents. We want Chill to be a feature in major office, senior living, medical and apartment communities across the country. We know how powerful the right spaces can be in demonstrating a commitment to mental wellness and encouraging wellness practices, and we’re eager to bring Chill to as many people as possible.”
