In almost every aspect of modern life, data can serve as a great resource to make any and all processes more efficient. In 2020, the data industry was valued at more than $138 million and is rapidly growing, expected to be worth $274 million by then end of next year. The health data industry is well-funded, and thus evolving even faster than a lot of other arenas where data is being used regularly. Here are four programs that are making life much easier for healthcare providers during the data revolution.
CareCloud
As the name would suggest, CareCloud is a cloud-based offering that allows healthcare teams to provide a paperless workflow for physicians providing patient care. One of the few silver linings of the COVID-19 pandemic was an evolution in telehealth services, as many hospitals needed to use space to treat pandemic patients, causing many consultations and other services that do not require face-to-face care to be conducted online. CareCloud is integrated with telehealth software to make both remote appointments easier, as well as inputting information into EHRs instant as well.
CareCloud also has an easy-to-use app that allows teams to access scheduling pages and patient information right from their smartphones.
Allscripts Care Director
One of the reasons the data industry is worth so much is the efficiency that streamlined data analysis affords companies and organizations. Allscripts Care Director’s primary objective is to help lower patient costs by taking advantage of that efficiency. Care Director allows users to deliver better patient outcomes with its robust database of information relative to a given set of symptoms, share information with other providers, make payments easy and secure, and work quickly with insurance providers to keep costs down.
Cerner
This is one of the leading EHR software offerings that allows healthcare teams to support workflow, reports, and patient records. Advocates of Cerner’s program point to the ease and security of importing and exporting the data, and building easy-to-read reports. It’s also accessible by outside sources, primarily patients, so they can access their own information. In addition, Cerner has been at the forefront of EHR software since its inception and is considered one of the most reliable organizations with unparalleled customer service.
Harris CareTracker
With similar offerings, Harris CareTracker is the biggest competitor to Cerner’s program. It is more geared towards larger organizations, like hospitals as far as the private sector. It is also the choice of most government hospital programs in both the U.S. and Canada. With mass service in mind, Harris’ program is heralded for its appointment management capabilities, quick and secure e-prescribing, HIPAA compliance (hence the government’s choice) and patient portal options allowing for telehealth services.
Future
The COVID pandemic certainly cause its fair share of issues within the healthcare community, but one of the silver linings was the evolution in digital services making healthcare more affordable and efficient. Technological advancements will continue to make healthcare more and more accessible, and a greater reliance on health data and cloud-based information will allow quality care to reach places it has never been able to before. In all aspects of healthcare, technology is making things easier and enhancing the patient experience, and programs geared towards properly utilizing data analytics, such as these, will continue to be more and more valuable.
