Enhancement Center Expands to New Location in Grants, NM

Therapist now offering mental health services to people coming out of the Cibola County court system and the general public

ALBUQUERQUE, NM / ACCESSWIRE / February 9, 2022 / The Enhancement Center has long offered mental health services throughout Albuquerque and Rio Rancho since 2002. Of course with the pandemic and the popularization of telehealth, they serve people all over New Mexico with online counseling. And now, they’ve added a location in Grants, NM with a special mission and vision.

Someone who has long been on the Enhancement Center roster, Eugene Hinojos, LCSW, is now working with the court system of Cibola County to offer therapy to people with drug and addiction-related offenses as a part of the diversion program for people struggling with addiction. Hinojos provides telehealth and in-person therapy in a space they’re currently renting in Grants. Enhancement Center founder, Jim Shotwell, explained,

“Gene has been successfully providing counseling and addiction treatment in Cibola County for several years through another provider. Those services fell off quite a bit, partly because of COVID. Gene will be able to pick up where he left off because of his connection to the court system and history serving the Grants community.”

And it’s not just Grants that benefits from these counseling services. The Cibola County court system oversees offenses from many small towns in the surrounding area. Hinojos provides mental health services to the adult drug court, family drug court, and juvenile drug court. So he can provide therapy to anyone who needs it-no matter their age.

With his Masters in Social Work from New Mexico Highlands University and over 10 years working as a therapist, Hinojos has a lot of experience working with this population and has seen a large amount of success helping patients work through drug and alcohol addictions.

Because of COVID concerns and restrictions, so far appointments have been limited. But as restrictions begin to lift again, Enhancement Center plans to bring on more providers at this location and provide therapy to the general public in Grants as well.

About The Enhancement Center
The Enhancement Center is a group of over 30 mental health providers offering proven, compassionate therapy in Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Corrales, and now Grants. Their therapists are all licensed and specialize in various methodologies and presenting problems.
