Inkblot Therapy Launches Its New iCBT Solution Tranquility by Inkblot
Toronto, Ontario–(Newsfile Corp. – March 2, 2022) – Inkblot Therapy is pleased to announce its new internet-based cognitive behavioural therapy (iCBT) solution — Tranquility by Inkblot. The introduction of this solution builds on Green Shield Holding’s acquisition of Tranquility — one of Canada’s fastest growing iCBT platforms — in August 2021 and Tranquility’s merger with Inkblot Therapy in January 2022. Now fully embedded into Inkblot’s employee assistance (EAP) platform, this solution represents a major step forward in Inkblot’s mission to increase accessibility and reduce barriers to mental health care in one innovative, end-to-end solution.
“At Inkblot, we’re committed to making high quality mental health support more accessible through cutting edge digital solutions,” said Luke Vigeant, President of Inkblot Therapy. “Our iCBT program with Tranquility is an effective and affordable alternative to the long wait times and expensive treatment costs that come with seeking out in-person care. By offering this program alongside our existing products, Inkblot is cementing its position as a leader in digital mental health care and offering yet another accessible solution to people and organizations in need.”
Founded in Halifax in 2017, Tranquility offers timely, clinically-validated iCBT from mental health professionals in a stigma-free setting. Its innovative program includes digital CBT lessons, skill-based exercises and guided-support programs proven to help users reduce and manage symptoms of anxiety, depression and other mental health concerns. Tranquility was co-designed by a team of clinicians and individuals with lived experience of mental illness. As a result, the program ranks a cut above competitors — showing higher user satisfaction and fidelity to CBT principles than most digital mental health apps, according to a recent peer-reviewed journal article.
“Tranquility is already a trusted iCBT solution for individuals, employers and public sector organizations in Canada with an impressive clinical track-record,” said Joel Muise, Co-Founder of Tranquility and Senior Director, iCBT at Inkblot. “Through our merger with Inkblot, we’re expanding the reach of the platform — enabling more individuals to take control of their mental health and more organizations to manage mental health-related productivity losses.”
The COVID-19 pandemic continues to take a significant toll on the mental health of Canadians at home and in the workplace. With one in three Canadians reporting burnout and one in five likely to experience a mental health condition in their lifetime, the need for sustainable, low-cost mental health solutions in Canada is urgent.
“To ensure Canada’s mental health system works for all Canadians, innovative providers must work together to increase affordability and accessibility to mental health services,” noted Joe Blomeley, Executive Vice President, Mental Health for the GSC group of companies. “I’m very proud and impressed with Inkblot and Tranquility’s ability to partner, integrate and expand their offerings — ultimately enhancing our collective support for Canadians through this best-in-class iCBT solution.”
