ST. GEORGE, UT / ACCESSWIRE / June 2, 2022 / Adapy Inc., inspired by military veteran and spinal cord injury survivor Andrew Evans, announced today that Evans and CEO Aaron Werner received their official U.S. patent for a device that is designed to improve mobility for the disabled. Adapy™ states that through its innovation, disabled people will be able to automate the process of preparing their vehicles for driving by tapping just a few buttons on their smartphones. “Think ‘home automation’ but for the vehicle,” says Werner.

Prior to the creation of Adapy’s technology, disabled individuals who wanted to drive faced challenges not typically experienced by other drivers. While most people could get into their vehicles relatively quickly and start driving, the disabled first had to spend up to fifteen minutes using multiple remote controls to open doors, operate lifts, and raise seats. This process could be repeated multiple times each day and be made more complicated if a remote control failed. As you would expect, disabled drivers generally spent more time in the heat, rain, and cold than did other drivers as they waited for their vehicles to be ready to use. Adapy’s patented technology was created to potentially solve these issues by giving the user control over their adaptive devices, such as wheelchair lifts and cranes, by just clicking a few buttons on their smartphone.

“We are thrilled that our Smart Mobility System has been patented, and we are ready to offer it to disabled drivers around the nation,” says Adapy™. “We are hopeful that millions of disabled people who operate adaptive mobility devices in conjunction with their vehicle will now be able to experience greater freedom and independence and avoid temperatures that can be life-threatening. With our patented device, the user will simply plug the Adapy™ Smart Hub into their adaptive equipment installed in or on their vehicle and pair it with the the Adapy Mobile App. One app will now do the work of multiple remotes, including automated processes or scenes.”

Scott Nielson, a mentor and coach at Atwood Innovation Plaza (Dixie State College), helped move the project forward and said this of Adapy™ and its founders: “It will undoubtedly revolutionize the industry. Anyone who has a handicap or disability will be given so much freedom from this device. Aaron Werner and Andrew Evans are extremely creative and intelligent human beings.”

In other news, Adapy, Inc. has announced that it has secured a relationship with Avenue Homecare, Inc. to provide Adapy’s product to veterans through the VA. The company is anticipating a launch in late 2022 with a Veteran Solution. Adapy’s aim is that this will make it affordable for veterans to obtain the patented technology and benefit from it.

Adapy’s technology has also been reviewed by the Challenged Athletes Foundation (CAF). “We are working on a grant to CAF that may allow the foundation’s members who cannot afford the technology to gain access to it and experience more freedom and independence from its use,” Adapy™ says.

The company has also been endorsed by ManaMed, Inc., which specializes in durable medical equipment, as well as Marc Andrus RRT, MBA, a surveyor for the Joint Commission.

Adapy says that it will continue to develop its patented technology and expand it into additional products that will help the disabled to have full control over their lives. As CEO Aaron Werner says, “With today’s technological advancements, everyone, regardless of who they are, should have the ability to experience better mobility.”

Adapy, Inc. was founded by Aaron Werner working hand-in-hand with Andrew Evans to perfect the technology that they patented with the goal of helping the disabled to experience greater freedom and independence.
