The Assistance Fund Opens New Program for Small Cell Lung Cancer

Financial Assistance From The Assistance Fund Now Available for Eligible People Living With Small Cell Lung Cancer

ORLANDO, FL / ACCESSWIRE / July 22, 2023 / The Assistance Fund, an independent charitable patient assistance organization that helps patients and families facing high medical out-of-pocket costs, today announced the launch of a new copay assistance program for people living with small cell lung cancer. The program is designed to help eligible individuals pay for their out-of-pocket medical expenses related to small cell lung cancer, such as copays, coinsurance, and deductibles.

Small cell lung cancer is most closely associated with heavy smoking and tobacco use.[1] People living with small cell lung cancer experience difficulty breathing, wheezing, hoarseness, and fatigue. Categorized as limited-stage or extensive-stage, this cancer often requires surgery, radiation, or chemotherapy treatment.

“The only thing cancer patients should be focused on is getting better, not the cost of care,” said Danielle Vizcaino, President and CEO at The Assistance Fund. “Because of the generosity of our donors, TAF’s Small Cell Lung Cancer Copay Assistance Program-our seventeenth oncology disease program-will ensure more people living with small cell lung cancer get the potentially lifesaving treatment they need.”
