eClinicalWorks population health solutions streamline patient data for Connecticut Institute for Communities, Inc.

WESTBOROUGH, Mass.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–eClinicalWorks®, the largest ambulatory cloud EHR, today announced that the Connecticut Institute for Communities, Inc. (CIFC) — a 72 provider FQHC — deployed the eClinicalWorks Population Health solutions to improve the delivery of quality care and evaluate access to healthcare services.

CIFC deployed eClinicalWorks Population Health solutions, including the Healthcare Effectiveness Data and Information Set (HEDIS® Analytics), to save time and improve compliance measures. The institute implemented the model just before the COVID-19 pandemic, which helped achieve continued compliance during lockdowns and challenging care settings.

“Before implementing eClinicalWorks Population Health solutions, our providers and staff had to manually check different windows for patient information and compliance metrics,” said Vinicius Barreto, quality data analyst of Connecticut Institute for Communities. “Now, we can see patient clinical quality measure data and track screenings in one place, which has resulted in significant times savings and allows our Quality Team to keep the practice informed of key compliance metrics. On average, our providers see 20 to 30 patients a day, so streamlining population health tracking goes a long way to giving them back valuable time to spend with their patients. Additionally, our medical assistants are now able to utilize the solution for pre-visit chart prep.”

Since implementing HEDIS Analytics and other population health tools available in eClinicalWorks, CIFC has seen significant improvement in population health metrics and screenings:

  • Cervical cancer screening improved from 53% to 62%
  • HIV screening increased by 11%

“Our Population Health solutions are one of the key tools that CIFC Health is using to increase compliance, which results in better patient health outcomes and reduced administrative burden for providers and staff,” said Girish Navani, CEO and cofounder of eClinicalWorks. “The solution uses visual cues and colors to identify compliance measures and integrates with eClinicalMessenger® for easy and secure patient communication about screenings and other health needs. With HEDIS Analytics, any healthcare organization can see improved tracking and compliance like that of the Connecticut Institute for Communities.”
