Nanoflex Robotics AG Honored with TOP 100 Swiss Startup Award

ZURICH, SWITZERLAND / ACCESSWIRE / September 7, 2023 / Nanoflex Robotics AG, a surgical robotic startup based in Switzerland announced today it has received the prestigious TOP 100 Swiss Startup Award.

The TOP 100 Swiss Startup Award is an annual award that recognizes the top startups in the country. The shortlisted startups are ranked and judged by a panel of startup experts and investors. Over the years, the TOP 100 Swiss Startup Award has become a leading startup benchmark within Switzerland’s entrepreneurial landscape.

Nanoflex, a surgical robotic startup founded in 2021, is developing innovative solutions in remote surgery and magnetic navigation for the treatment of acute ischemic stroke and other procedures.

For the 2023 TOP 100 Swiss Startup Award, Nanoflex was ranked 27 on the overall list and fourth in the medical technology space. This marks the first time Nanoflex has received the award.

“We are honored to receive the TOP 100 Swiss Startup Award and to be named amongst such illustrious peers less than 18 months since we founded the company. Receiving this award reaffirms our commitment to building next-generation remote robotic surgical solutions that can enhance access to life-saving procedures, such as treating acute ischemic stroke,” said Matthew Curran, Chief Executive Officer of Nanoflex Robotics.

Nanoflex’s platform uses advanced magnetic technology and ultra-flexible endoluminal robotic tools to give physicians greater control, dexterity and precision over a range of procedures. The platform’s first target application is to enable remote mechanical thrombectomies in stroke patients where timely intervention is critical.

“With acute ischemic strokes, accessing treatment swiftly is crucial to increasing the odds of good outcomes for patients. However, this is challenging globally due to a lack of stroke specialists and the time needed to transfer patients to appropriate stroke centers. With our platform, we hope to increase access to timely stroke treatment through remote surgery by allowing physicians to treat patients safely and precisely no matter where they are located,” said Curran.
