Dr. Amy Hester, Chairwoman and CEO, HD Nursing Inducted as Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing

BENTON, Ark.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–HD Nursing, the leading patient safety solution that combines predictive analytics with individualized fall and pressure injury prevention, is pleased to announce that Dr. Amy Hester, PhD, RN, BC, Chairwoman and CEO, HD Nursing, has been inducted as a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing (Academy). Induction into the Academy is a significant milestone in a nurse leader’s career in which their accomplishments are honored by their colleagues within and outside the profession. Through a competitive, rigorous application process, the Academy’s Fellow Selection Committee reviewed nearly 400 applications to select the 2023 Fellows who were selected based upon their contributions and impact to advance the public’s health and representing 40 states, the District of Columbia, and 13 countries.

With over 25 years of nursing experience including over a decade of med/surge and neuro nursing followed by unit management and hospital administration, Dr. Hester is currently CEO and Chairwoman of HD Nursing. In 2015, she earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing Science and has since published and spoken extensively on falls and injury prediction and prevention. Upon retirement from the University of Arkansas Medical Sciences (UAMS) in 2018 after 26 years of service, she transitioned her focus to HD Nursing. She also serves as an adjunct faculty member at the UAMS College of Nursing. As an entrepreneur, she mentors others to help them with their own endeavors.

Dr. Hester and the 2023 inductees will be recognized for their substantial, sustained, and significant contributions to health and health care at the Academy’s annual Health Policy Conference, taking place on October 5 – 7, 2023 in Washington, DC during the Induction Ceremony on the evening of October 7. This is a historic year for the Academy as the organization is celebrating its 50th anniversary. Once the newest Fellows are inducted, the Academy will be comprised of more than 3,000 leaders who are experts in policy, research, administration, practice, and academia that champion health and wellness, locally and globally.
