Precision Health Solutions Welcomes New Vice President of Pharmacy

ST. PETERSBURG, FL / ACCESSWIRE / November 7, 2023 / Precision Health Solutions (PHS), a leading diagnostic laboratory specializing in personalized medicine and molecular diagnostics, is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr. Melissa Smith, PharmD, CPH, as the company’s Vice President of Pharmacy. In this role, Dr. Smith will partner with prescribers to deliver a comprehensive patient-centered evaluation of medication therapies to improve patient outcomes, including her unique expertise in Pharmacogenomics (PGx).

Dr. Smith will lead a range of critical initiatives that will enhance PHS’s medication management solutions for both healthcare providers and patients. Among her key responsibilities will be Business-to-Business (B2B) growth strategies, including the expansion of a national network of PHS pharmacists. In addition, Dr. Smith will develop and lead PHS’s direct-to-consumer (D2C) PGx model to deliver safe and effective personalized healthcare solutions directly to consumers in compliance with all regulatory requirements.

Prior to PHS, Dr. Smith was the Vice President of Clinical Services for ClarityX®. In 2021, she founded Florida PGx Consulting, LLC, where she implemented personalized medication solutions to provide patients access to pharmacists to support medication selection using genetics as a guide. She earned her Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences from the University of South Florida (USF) in 2009 and achieved her Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the Regis School of Pharmacy in 2016.
