LAKE BUENA VISTA, FL / ACCESSWIRE / November 8, 2023 / The American Association of Medical Assistants® (AAMA) installed Aimee Quinn, BHA, CMA (AAMA), as a 2023-2025 AAMA Trustee in Lake Buena Vista, Florida, at the 67th AAMA Annual Conference. In this capacity, Quinn, a resident of Coldwater, Ohio, represents medical assistants and CMAs (AAMA)® across the nation.

Medical assisting is one of the nation’s careers growing much faster than the average for all occupations, according to the United States Bureau of Labor Statistics. Medical assistants work in outpatient healthcare settings. Employers are seeking and recruiting these allied health professionals because of their uniquely diverse clinical and administrative patient-centered training.

“I am deeply humbled by the chance to support the association, our profession and medical assistants throughout the nation,” says Quinn. “Being chosen as an AAMA Trustee fills me with genuine excitement. I am fully committed and eagerly look forward to giving my all to advance the AAMA community and its vital mission.”

After dedicating 13 years to orthopedics, Quinn transitioned into a role as an electronic health records (EHRs) application specialist. She now serves as the EHR coordinator for Grand Lake Health System.

Quinn has served the AAMA as a member of the Marketing Strategy Team, Membership Development Strategy Team, and Nominating Committee. She also served as the 2022-2023 president of the Ohio State Society of Medical Assistants.

The Certified Medical Assistant (AAMA)® – or CMA (AAMA) – credential represents a medical assistant who has been credentialed through the Certifying Board (CB) of the AAMA. The CB of the AAMA was awarded accreditation by the International Accreditation Service (IAS) under ISO/IEC Standard 17024:2012, the global benchmark for personnel certification bodies, thus distinguishing the CMA (AAMA) from all other medical assisting certifications.

A rigorous credential, the CMA (AAMA) is the only medical assisting certification that requires postsecondary (college-level) education to be eligible to sit for the CMA (AAMA) Certification Exam, which is administered by PSI Services. As a result, the reliability and validity of the CMA (AAMA) credential are of the highest order.

Certification status is a matter of public record and may be released. Every day the AAMA responds to more than 100 employer requests for CMA (AAMA) certification verification – for both current and potential employees.
