NaphCare Recognizes National Nurses Week in Pasco County Florida

BIRMINGHAM, Ala.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–NaphCare, Inc., a leading correctional healthcare company, and Pasco County Corrections want to acknowledge the men and women providing correctional healthcare services within the Pasco County Detention Facility in Land O’ Lakes, Fla. in honor of National Nurses Week (May 6-12).

“As a Department, I want to extend our heartfelt appreciation to the dedicated healthcare staff providing care to inmates in Pasco County,” said Pasco County Chief Correctional Officer Stacey Jenkins. “Together, I believe Pasco County Corrections, in collaboration with our inmate medical provider, NaphCare, can enhance our mission of ensuring the health and welfare of those entrusted to our care. Finally, I welcome our new partnership with NaphCare, and appreciate all dedicated service providers in the Pasco County Detention Facility.”

Pasco County selected NaphCare to provide correctional healthcare services through a competitive RFP process. Effective April 1, 2024, NaphCare began overseeing healthcare services in the Pasco County Detention Facility to provide medical, mental health, dental, and pharmaceuticals for its 1,450 inmates.

“NaphCare is proud to build upon our 19-year legacy of delivering quality and proactive healthcare in Florida through our partnership with Pasco County,” said Brad McLane, NaphCare Chief Executive Officer. “Florida has emerged as a center of excellence for us and our partners, and we’re looking forward to continuing to elevate patient care through innovative solutions while upholding the highest standards of care.”

NaphCare also implemented its corrections-specific electronic health records (EHR) system, TechCare, offering the county a customized clinical information tool to efficiently track, organize, and manage the medical information of incarcerated patients.

“The responsibilities fulfilled by correctional officers and correctional staff often garner little fanfare, but we proudly recognize the commitment and hard work put forth daily as these professionals serve their communities through selfless actions,” said Pasco County Assistant County Administrator for Public Safety J.J. Murphy. “Thank you to the professional medical staff for choosing to dedicate your service in our facility.”
