The Assistance Fund Opens New Program for Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH)

Financial Assistance From The Assistance Fund Now Available for Eligible People Living With Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis (NASH)

ORLANDO, FL / ACCESSWIRE / May 28, 2024 / The Assistance Fund, an independent charitable patient assistance organization that helps patients and families facing high medical out-of-pocket costs, today announced the launch of a new financial assistance program for people living with nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH). The program is designed to help eligible individuals pay for their out-of-pocket medical costs for treatment, such as copays, health insurance premiums, and incidental medical expenses.

Nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) is a liver disease where fat builds up in the organ. When the buildup causes inflammation and damage, it can lead to cirrhosis – a potentially life-threatening condition. People living with NASH require treatment to stop the buildup of fat in the liver. A NASH diagnosis is confirmed through testing or a liver biopsy.1

“People living with NASH should be focused on their wellbeing, not their wallet,” said Danielle Vizcaino, President and CEO of The Assistance Fund. “With immense gratitude to our donors, our Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis Financial Assistance Program breaks down financial barriers, making critical treatment more accessible for the NASH community.”
