Goshen Hospital Achieves Magnet with Distinction(TM) Recognition

Goshen, Indiana–(Newsfile Corp. – June 10, 2024) – Magnet recognition is one of the highest honors a healthcare organization can receive for providing outstanding nursing care to patients. Goshen Hospital not only received its fifth designation; it also received Magnet with Distinction™ – a new category recently added by the American Nurses Credentialing Center to differentiate hospitals that exceed standards. Goshen Hospital was praised for exceeding standards in nine areas, including lower patient injury rates, higher patient satisfaction and for the high number of nurses with bachelor’s degrees (84 percent).

Magnet recognition involves a rigorous review of nursing care provided in the previous four years. Goshen Hospital received Magnet designations in 2004, 2009, 2014, 2019 and 2024. Just 581 of the 6,129 U.S. hospitals have achieved Magnet recognition. Of these, less than 60 have been recognized five times.
