Important Notice About a Privacy Matter

SAN JUAN, PUERTO RICO / ACCESSWIRE / July 12, 2024 / On or around September 24, 2023, Hospital Español Auxilio Mutuo de Puerto Rico, Inc. (“Hospital Auxilio Mutuo”) discovered an unauthorized access on its network. Upon discovery, Hospital Auxilio Mutuo took immediate action and enlisted the help of experts, retaining outside counsel and IT forensic specialists to determine the cause and extent of the incident.

Although our investigation remains ongoing, we have concluded that a limited amount of personal information may have been removed from our network in connection with the incident, including full names and one or more of the following: medical records, diagnostic information, and other data related to patient care. Nonetheless, at this time, we have no evidence that any information has been exfiltrated or misused.

We encourage everyone to employ best security practices to protect personal information, including monitoring credit reports and financial statements. Also, everyone should be aware that they are entitled to a free credit report once every 12 months from each of the three nationwide credit bureaus.
