State of Latinos in Georgia Report to Unveil Key Findings on November 19 in Norcross

Economic Development, Education, Housing & Safety Nets, Healthcare, Arts & Culture, and Political Power are the six areas covered in the report, the first of its kind in Georgia

ATLANTA, GA / ACCESSWIRE / November 1, 2024 / A seminal report outlining the realities, challenges, contributions, and opportunities of the Latino community in Georgia is scheduled to be unveiled at the 10th Annual Latino Summit on November 19 at the Norcross Cultural Arts & Community Center. The Summit, co-hosted by the Latino Community Fund (LCF Georgia) and Ser Familia, is the leading Latino-focused event in the state for capacity building, learning, peer support, and conversation for Georgia leaders in the government, philanthropy, education, business, and social sectors. It aims to serve one of the fastest-growing and most dynamic and diverse communities in the country: Latinos.

Estamos Aquí 2023

With remarkable growth (over 37% in the last 10 years outpacing national numbers), 91% of households reporting income, an average age of 26 and a GDP of US$52.2 billion (comparable to the entire economic output of Wyoming or Vermont), Latino contributions are undeniable across all economic sectors and key to determining the state’s present and future.

The State of the Latino Community in Georgia Report serves as a critical resource in bridging the gap between perception and reality intertwining quantitative data with personal narratives collected from established data sets, key informant interviews, and focus groups. It also invites stakeholders to collaborate in creating opportunities to expand positive impact and remove barriers that prevent self-sufficiency, wealth building, well-being and educational achievement.

This report is made possible through the collaboration and leadership of the Latino Community Fund (LCF Georgia), the Latinx Alliance, Ser Familia, Neighborhood Nexus, and 39 individuals interviewed representing 17 Latino-led and serving community organizations and 11 artists and creators across the state.

The report will be available for download starting November 19th.

Limited seats are available for the unveiling. Please visit www.LatinxSummit.org to register or email us at Daniela@LCFGeorgia.org to join the waiting list or receive updates.
