Veterans Bridge Home Rallies Support for Austin Corbett’s NFL Salute to Service Award Nomination

CHARLOTTE, NC / ACCESSWIRE / November 20, 2024 / Veterans Bridge Home (VBH), a leading non-profit organization dedicated to connecting, leading and advocating for veterans and their families across the Carolinas, is proud to support Carolina Panthers’ center, Austin Corbett, for the NFL’s 2024 Salute to Service Award presented by USAA. The award recognizes exceptional efforts by members of the NFL community to honor and support the military and veteran community.

“Austin’s commitment to our veterans exemplifies the spirit of service that the NFL’s Salute to Service Award represents,” said Blake Bourne, CEO of Veterans Bridge Home. “His genuine engagement with our programs and the veteran community has created lasting positive impacts that extend far beyond the football field.”

Corbett has been an advocate for the military community throughout his seven-year NFL Career. His dedication to veterans’ causes was ignited by a friendship with Brian Conwell, a disabled army veteran and four-time Paralympic gold medalist. This relationship inspired Corbett to become involved in various initiatives, including:

  • Participating in pregame field visits with the Panthers Row of Honor guests

  • Supporting Veterans Bridge Home’s Christmas shopping assistance program for veteran families

  • Engaging with Merging Vets and Players to help veterans transition to civilian life

  • Connecting with the military community through events like the Oorah Hooah 7-on-7 football tournament and military training camp visits

  • Traveling to military bases in the Carolinas to express gratitude and boost troop morale

To cast your vote and see the full list of nominees, visit NFL.com/SaluteFanVote. Fans can submit one vote per day for their favorite nominee and voting closes on November 30. The recipient will be recognized at NFL Honors, which will air nationally in February during the week of the Super Bowl.
