PARIS and SAN FRANCISCO, March 18, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Moon Surgical, a French-American pioneer in surgical innovation, announced today it is expanding its long-standing collaboration with NVIDIA to further advance the Maestro System’s Physical AI capabilities through NVIDIA Isaac for Healthcare platform.

By integrating cutting-edge AI-driven abilities to perceive, understand, and interact with the world around it, Maestro is evolving beyond traditional robotic assistance to actively interpret, adapt, and enhance surgical workflows in real time. This collaboration strengthens Moon Surgical’s position at the forefront of Physical AI in the operating room, leveraging its Maestro platform uniquely positioned between the surgeon and the patient to unlock new opportunities to digitize surgery at its core and improve efficiency across the surgical ecosystem.

“We’re excited for the release of NVIDIA Isaac for Healthcare which will help us add even more perceptive and intelligent capabilities to evolve the practice of surgery on our digital and AI native architecture,” stated Anne Osdoit, CEO of Moon Surgical. “Instead of training our AI using real OR data, we’ll be able to simulate various OR environments, use them to generate synthetic data via intra and perioperative experiences to ultimately train our AI to understand and interact with the physical world around it.”

The Maestro System leverages the NVIDIA Holoscan platform for real-time sensor processing powered by NVIDIA IGX. Integrating NVIDIA’s domain-specialized Isaac for Healthcare will accelerate Moon Surgical to safely and efficiently design, test, and deploy intelligent capabilities on the Maestro System.

“NVIDIA Isaac for Healthcare aims to expand possibilities for companies such as Moon Surgical to bring physical AI into the next generation of surgical robotics,” stated David Niewolny, director of business development for MedTech at NVIDIA. “This platform has the potential to accelerate development cycles, reduce cost and speed time to market, while ensuring safe and effective system testing and deployment.”

Moon Surgical has developed and deployed multiple AI features within an agentic AI Maestro demonstrator, which will be showcased at the GTC conference. This includes the ability to render OR environments where the Maestro System operates into digital twins, enabling advanced workflow analysis and compliance to surgeons’ preferences; capabilities that are critical for optimizing operative efficiency and ensuring on-time procedure starts.
