SAN FRANCISCO, April 2, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — RSA Conference LLC (“RSAC“), the company behind the world’s largest and most influential cybersecurity conference, today announced the rollout of a community-driven membership platform that enables the world’s cyber defenders to address the ever-evolving and escalating cybersecurity threat environment.
The platform provides access to exclusive content, a dedicated cybersecurity AI co-pilot, secure messaging and connections, and an opportunity to discuss trending and pressing topics in groups, all while staying up to date on the latest news within the industry. This membership will be offered with both free and professional tiers and is accessible through a browser and a dedicated mobile app.
“We are on a mission to help the cybersecurity community thrive year-round,” said Dr. Hugh Thompson, Executive Chairman, RSAC and RSAC™ Conference Program Committee Chair for over 15 years. “RSAC™ Conference is always the most exciting and exhilarating week of the year for the community. We are elated to now extend the learning, engagement, and ability to connect to the other 51 weeks of the year using this community-driven platform. It has been a privilege to collaborate with the community to design this platform that will improve cybersecurity for all.”
RSAC™ Community Platform Features
The platform will continue to evolve to include additional features such as access to year-round continuing education to support professional certifications, breaking cybersecurity news alerts, virtual war rooms, enhanced group functionality, trending topical analysis, partner discounts, and more.
“If the tech is global, the conversation and the community should be global as well. RSAC has done a great job being international (companies, attendees, speakers) over the years,” said Bruce Schneier, Security Technologist, Researcher, and Lecturer at Harvard Kennedy School. “Having an online resource beyond the walls of the Conference has always been a good idea. There is value there because we are a community. This platform is a place where members of the community can go to find resources, to ask questions, and to connect over important issues. It’s a great place for intelligent timely conversations to be had.”
RSAC™ Labs, Community Research
To support this membership, the company has added several elite researchers to the newly established RSAC™ Labs team. Consisting of researchers from both academia and industry, RSAC™ Labs team will produce original work in areas such as security, privacy, AI/ML, digital identity, and human factors research, among others. Additionally, the team will develop innovative technologies, report on industry trends and the future of cybersecurity, and provide a view of what’s on the minds of the cybersecurity community.
“The experience, knowledge, innovation, and depth the RSAC™ Labs team brings from across the globe will provide tremendous value to our new community-focused vision,” said Dr. Petros Efstathopoulos, Vice President of Research & Development, and RSAC™ Labs team lead. “Our team will also collaborate with academic institutions, publish impactful research, and host the Breaking Research track at RSAC™ Conference.” Efstathopoulos was previously VP of Research at Gen Digital and holds more than 40 patents and over 20 academic publications.
Additions to the RSAC™ Labs team include Dr. Chris Gates and Dr. Dan Marino as Directors of Research with Dr. Omer Akgul, Dr. Dario Pasquini, and Athanasios Theocharis joining as Principal Researchers. Collectively, these researchers have filed over 90 patents and published research at top-tier academic conferences.
In addition, the company also announced the formation of a community research group. Working alongside the RSAC™ Labs team, Laura Koetzle has joined the company as the Head of Community Research, tasked with driving independent thought-leading and member-driven research about, for, and in collaboration with the cybersecurity community. Koetzle joins RSAC after spending more than 20 years at Forrester Research, where she led the security and risk research group and the infrastructure and operations research group globally as well as the European research organization. Koetzle has also served on the RSAC™ Conference Program Committee since 2013.
