WASHINGTON, May 30, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — The National Hispanic Health Foundation (NHHF), formerly part of the National Hispanic Medical Association, unveiled a bold new brand identity as it enters a transformative era. The rebrand signals a reinvigorated mission, a broader scope of impact, and an urgent call to reimagine a healthcare system that has long left minority communities behind.
At a time of rising division, distrust, and disparities in our public health systems, NHHF stays focused on its strengthened vision: building a sustainable healthcare system that works for everyone. Through leadership development, clinical research, policy engagement, and culturally competent education, NHHF is collaborating with national private-public partners to reimagine public health so it better reflects and serves the country’s growing diverse communities.
“This rebrand isn’t just about a new look — it’s about new possibilities,” said Dr. Elena Rios, President and CEO of NHHF. “NHHF is reaffirming our commitment to culturally competent, community-rooted leadership that reflects the full diversity of America. We’re not waiting for the future of healthcare — we’re building it.”
Why Now?
Communities of color — primarily Hispanic, Black, Native American, and other underrepresented groups — continue to face stark health disparities and underrepresentation in public health and the healthcare workforce. For example, Hispanics make up nearly 20% of the U.S. population, yet account for only 6% of practicing physicians, a gap with serious consequences.
The pandemic laid bare the systemic inequities that persist across minority communities, from unequal access to care to disproportionate rates of chronic illness and health misinformation. These challenges demand bold, inclusive leadership rooted in cultural understanding.
NHHF is scaling its efforts to develop diverse healthcare leaders, strengthen public-private partnerships, and help build a healthcare system that reflects and serves all communities.
What’s New
NHHF invites all partners — past, present, and future — to explore its reimagined platform, amplify its mission, and join the movement to close the health equity gap for Hispanic communities. Visit the new website at nhhfx.org.
