NEW YORK, June 9, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Sage, the first cloud-based operating system built for senior living, announced the early release of Sage Detect, a monitoring solution that surfaces real-time emergency alerts, wellness trends, and precision-driven insights via Sage’s platform. Designed to help communities move from more reactive to proactive care, Sage Detect reinforces Sage as a transformative force in senior living technology.

The Evolution
Initially built as the next generation of nurse call, the Sage operating system goes beyond alerts, with an intuitive app designed to help caregivers triage, manage, and document care in real time. Sage collects and interprets data to help teams improve outcomes, identify financial opportunities, optimize staffing, and streamline operations to empower smarter decision-making across every level of a senior living community.

Now, Sage Detect is addressing a new problem head-on. Despite the best efforts of frontline care teams, falls remain the leading cause of injury and liability in senior living. That’s why the team developed Sage Detect, which uses advanced AI to interpret daily activity patterns with highly granular data points to deliver:

  • Real-time emergency alerts about falls and other emergencies, as well as status views
  • Wellness trend insights for sleep quality, mobility, hydration, and more, which can help care teams get ahead of potential condition changes
  • Simple, embedded workflow integration to create greater efficiency, without requiring additional tools
  • Strict privacy protocols to protect dignity, security, and trust

“Building Sage Detect was a natural evolution,” said Raj Mehra, co-founder and CEO of Sage. “Caregivers are under pressure to do more with less, with lives on the line. Sage Detect supports caregivers with proactive and real-time alerts to better monitor and care for their residents, identifying dangerous situations before they arise.”

Sage Detect: Live in Agemark
Agemark, a Sage customer since 2023, implemented Sage Detect. “We’ve had great success with Sage throughout Agemark communities and we’re excited about this evolution and the power of Sage Detect to accelerate response times, improve care planning, and boost operational efficiency,” said Michael Pittore, co-CEO at Agemark. “Its targeted, AI-driven insights will help our teams identify condition changes earlier, respond more effectively, and ultimately deliver safer, more proactive care, while maintaining the privacy and security that our residents deserve.”

Backed by Tech Visionaries
With $59M in funding, most recently a $35M Series B in December 2024, Sage is backed by investors including IVP, Friends & Family Capital, PLUS Capital, Maveron, Goldcrest Capital, Distributed Ventures, and ANIMO Ventures. We are excited to announce that Matthew and Camila McConaughey have also invested in Sage.

“Spending so much time with Kay Mac, we’ve seen just how important it is to support her well-being without taking away her independence. That’s why Sage’s mission really speaks to us. They’re providing older adults with the tools they need to stay safe, healthy, and independent while giving families peace of mind. It’s all about ensuring that seniors can age with dignity, and we’re proud to support a company that’s truly making this kind of difference,” Matthew and Camila McConaughey said.

About Sage
Sage is redefining care for older adults and the caregivers who serve them. As the industry’s first fully integrated operations management platform, Sage replaces outdated infrastructure with modern software and AI-powered insights. Communities using Sage report a 20% average reduction in staff turnover, $250 additional NOI per resident per month, and significantly improved resident outcomes with 55% faster response times compared to industry average.
