Medaptus’ Charge Pro Software Integrates with their Athena Health and Meditech EHR to capture all missing charges, reducing manual work and inefficiency
BOSTON, July 17, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Medaptus, a leading healthcare provider of healthcare technology solutions, is pleased to announce that Peterson Health, a healthcare organization spanning nine counties in Kerrville, Texas, has chosen Charge Pro to automate their charge capture and reconciliation process.
Currently, Peterson Health’s charge capture process for their around 60 providers is quite manual. With this collaboration, Peterson Health integrates Medaptus’ Charge Pro solution directly into their Athena Health and Meditech solutions to automate their charge capture process. This drastically reduces the cumbersome, manual work that Peterson Health currently does to capture charges and instead, will automate their charge capture process, leading to significant efficiencies, capturing more revenue, and reducing charge lag.
In their current charge capture process, Peterson Health’s Revenue Cycle team would have to download Excel reports from Meditech of the previous day’s patient encounters to determine the appropriate charges, as well as take paper slips from providers and manually create those patients in the system. The manual work was inefficient and was leading to missing charges if a paper slip was illegible or not delivered to the practice coordinator and then turned into the billing team. As well, since their reports relied on multiple people entering them, it took a few days to get all of the charges manually entered into their system for their hospital services.
With Charge Pro, Peterson Health will automate this process so they can now achieve benefits such as:
“We’re excited to announce our new partnership with Medaptus to automate our charge capture process,” said Christopher Ballesteros, Executive Director of Revenue Cycle, Peterson Health. “Our current manual process was not sustainable and leading to missing charges. We’re excited to partner with Medaptus to ensure we’re capturing all charges from all patient encounters and eliminating all the manual work our team had to previously do to capture charges. By integrating Medaptus directly with our Athena Health and Meditech systems, we’ll create a streamlined, efficient charge capture process. It’s a real gamechanger for us.”
“We are thrilled to collaborate with Peterson Health to address the challenges of the mid revenue cycle process and improve their charge capture processes,” said Malachi Charbonneau, General Manager at Medaptus. “By automating their charge capture process and integrating it with their EHR system, Peterson Health ensures that every charge for each patient encounter is captured, reducing the likelihood of missed charges. This revenue increase significantly improves their operations.”
