LG OPENS NOMINATIONS FOR LIFE’S GOOD COACHES AWARD, RECOGNIZING NCAA COACHES WHO PRIORITIZE MENTAL WELLNESS

NCAA Student-Athletes Are Encouraged to Nominate Coaches Championing Mental Health

ENGLEWOOD CLIFFS, N.J., Sept. 4, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — For the second consecutive year, LG is inviting entries for its LG Life’s Good Coaches Award, which celebrates NCAA coaches who are empowering student-athletes through personal growth and fostering environments that support mental wellness. The award recognizes coaches playing a pivotal role as mentors and allies to their teams and encouraging positivity throughout all phases of a student’s collegiate sports career.

The two recipients – a coach of an NCAA men’s program and a coach of an NCAA women’s program – will be announced during halftime of the 2025 CBS Sports Thanksgiving Classic broadcast on Thursday, November 27. Nominations are open for both the men’s and women’s programs now through September 15, 2025.

“With the LG Life’s Good Coaches Award, LG is championing coaches who consistently create supportive spaces and cultivate open dialogue around mental health challenges,” said Jeannie Lee, LG’s Director of Corporate Marketing. “We believe in spotlighting these dedicated leaders who truly focus on the holistic development of their student-athletes and extend their impact far beyond the game.”

LG invites NCAA student athletes to nominate coaches who have made a positive difference in their lives, individually or collectively, for the LG Life’s Good Coaches Award. Coaches deeply influence student-athletes between practice and games, on and off the playing field. Many create nurturing environments and provide a safe space to discuss mental health challenges while helping break down its stigma in sports. The nominating players of the coaches selected as finalists, will be able to submit short videos highlighting the finalists’ influence and shine a light on the impact they’ve made.

The coaches selected as finalists will be voted on by a judging panel that includes sports and mental health professionals. The two coaches selected for the 2025 award year will receive monetary donations to be used toward mental health initiatives at the coaches’ schools alongside a suite of LG products.

The award represents the profound importance of supportive mentors and mental health advocates for student-athletes. For more information about the award and nomination process or to submit your coach, visit www.lg.com/us/ncaa.
