Medical Solutions nurses bring joy to SeriousFun summer camps

OMAHA, Neb., Sept. 4, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Medical Solutions is proud to celebrate the sixth consecutive summer partnering with SeriousFun Children’s Network, which offers free camps and programs worldwide for children with serious illnesses to experience joy, friendship, and new opportunities.

This year, Medical Solutions sent 26 nurses to seven summer camps across the United States, along with a nursing director to one additional camp, helping to ensure campers received the care and support needed to fully experience camp life.

At Camp Boggy Creek in Lake County, Florida, travel nurse Bianca Salvaggio returned for her third consecutive year, bringing nine years of pediatric intensive care (PICU) experience to the camp. Salvaggio first volunteered in 2011 as a counselor, an experience that inspired her nursing career.

“Camp helped shape my career trajectory,” said Salvaggio. “It gave me exposure to both working with kids and medicine. Years later, I became a nurse and started my career.”

Salvaggio said the most powerful part of camp each year is watching children gain a true sense of belonging. Many arrive feeling isolated, but at SeriousFun camps they find peers who share similar medical experiences, supportive friends who cheer them on through challenges, and opportunities to try things once thought impossible.

Since 2015, Medical Solutions has partnered with SeriousFun, providing pro-bono recruitment to fill critical camp nurse positions.
