careviso Participates in HL7® Da Vinci Project Connectathon Track to Showcase Healthcare No Surprises Act Leadership with seeQer Price Transparency Tool

VIENNA, Va., Oct. 6, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — careviso proudly announces they participated in the September HL7 FHIR® Connectathon, where they successfully completed an accurate real-time, end-to-end Good Faith Estimate and Advance Explanation of Benefits. HL7 International hosts multiple FHIR Connectathons per year and supports the annual Center for Medicare and Medicaid services (CMS) FHIR Connectathon.

The Connectathon is where the Da Vinci Patient Cost Transparency (PCT) use case team is testing and showcasing their efforts at exchanging patient cost information in healthcare, with the goal of having healthcare providers and payers securely exchange Good Faith Estimates (GFEs) and Advanced Explanations of Benefits (AEOBs) using HL7 Fast Healthcare Interoperability Resources (FHIR) standards. This framework supports coordinated estimates across multiple providers, payer responses with cost and benefit details, and aligns with transparency requirements under the No Surprises Act

careviso’s price transparency tool, seeQer, provides real-time cost and eligibility insights while streamlining prior authorization and network verification. The platform delivers transparency and vital information to providers, payers, and patients alike.
After the event, Vanessa Candelora, Co-Lead of the Da Vinci PCT Pilot and lead, Payer Provider & Technology Management & Operations at Point-of-Care Partners commented on the impact careviso and the Connectathon, stating:

We commend careviso for their leadership and successful initial testing of the Patient Cost Transparency (PCT) Implementation Guide using HL7 FHIR standard technology. Their work represents a critical step forward in bringing price transparency to life and demonstrates how innovative organizations can accelerate real-world interoperability to benefit patients, providers, and the broader healthcare ecosystem. It’s exciting to see the Da Vinci PCT standards in action, helping pave the way for patients to make more informed and equitable healthcare decisions. We’re excited to build upon this initial success and continue driving forward standards-based solutions that deliver real value across the healthcare ecosystem.

This initiative coincides with careviso’s mission to power transparency in healthcare through technology and innovation.

Utilizing seeQer, careviso’s CTO, Brandon Blais, showcased the submission of a successful GFE from FHIR in real time. The results of the GFE were then submitted to a payer which, through seeQer, returned a PDF with the patient’s AEOB information and more.

This real-time demonstration underscored how seeQer bridges the gap between providers and payers, ensuring patients receive clear and accurate cost information upfront. Reflecting on the significance of this milestone, Brandon Blais explained:

It was great to work with colleagues across the healthcare landscape to demonstrate
our ability to use the Da Vinci Patient Cost Transparency FHIR standards to generate and submit Good Faith Estimates and retrieve, store and display Advanced Explanation of Benefits at the point of care.

This participation highlights careviso’s commitment to supporting the healthcare industry’s compliance with the No Surprises Act. By leveraging seeQer, careviso continues to drive innovation that improves transparency, streamlines workflows, and enhances the patient experience.
