Cornell Chooses Radimal as Preferred Imaging Provider

Cornell teams up with Radimal to handle rising imaging caseloads, give residents relief overnight, and bring AI tools into veterinary education

ITHACA, N.Y., Oct. 7, 2025 /PRNewswire/ — Radimal, a leader in veterinary radiology services combining AI assessments with board-certified specialist consultations, has become the preferred provider for overflow imaging support at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. With over 21,000 imaging cases annually and more than 2,000 added in the past year alone, the college turned to Radimal to help ease pressure on its radiologists, improve overnight efficiency in the ER, and integrate AI tools into veterinary education. Radimal’s fast turnaround times, intuitive platform, and AI capabilities made it a strong fit for both Cornell’s clinical demands and its teaching mission.

“We still provide in-house consultations, but the case volume is growing. Radimal complements our workflow, and our residents are no longer being woken up for every radiograph,” says Dr. Peter V. Scrivani, Section Chief of Imaging. “As AI becomes more integrated into our field, our job will increasingly be to explain, contextualize, and teach. That’s why working with a forward-looking partner like Radimal is so important – they’re flexible, innovative, and thoughtful about how AI is introduced into veterinary radiology.”

“It is a very easy program to use,” says Dr. Meg Thompson, Clinical Professor of Diagnostic Imaging. “When you’re handling 50 cases a day, that makes a big difference. And it has a very contemporary feel, which students pick up on immediately.”

Dr. Thompson also incorporates Radimal’s AI into student case rounds. “We review the AI report, look at the heat map, and compare its findings to our own,” she explains. “It’s a practical way to help students learn how to interpret, question, and work with AI – skills they’ll need in real-world practice.”

“We’re incredibly proud that Cornell has chosen Radimal,” says Alan Weissman, Co-Founder of Radimal. “It’s an honor to support such a respected institution – and a sign of trust that leading radiologists are using our platform not only to improve care but to train the next generation.”
