North Dakota Health Information Network Upgrades to the Orion Health Amadeus Platform to Improve the Exchange of Critical Clinical and Medication Data

The Scalable and Open Amadeus Platform Enables Providers to Identify
Gaps in Care, Enhance Clinical Outcomes and Improve the Overall Cost of
Care

BOSTON–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Orion
Health
, a leading provider of population health management,
interoperability and precise health solutions, today announced that the North
Dakota Health Information Network
(NDHIN) has expanded its
relationship with the company by upgrading to the Orion
Health Amadeus Platform
. Using Amadeus, NDHIN providers can
seamlessly share, view and receive patients’ immunization records,
medication lists, histories, discharge summaries, lab results and
radiology reports as well as share referrals electronically.

NDHIN is dedicated to improving healthcare for North Dakotans by
creating a secure medical record sharing network for providers and
consumers. The organization engaged with Orion Health in 2013 to power
the state’s health information exchange (HIE). To further deliver on its
mission and build on its previous work, NDHIN is now partnering with
Orion Health to expand access to additional valuable real-time
medication data and to implement new reporting tools to proactively
monitor patients’ medication management and adherence. With the Amadeus
platform, Orion Health can help enable providers to make more informed
care decisions, improve the coordination of care across the healthcare
continuum and, ultimately, drive better healthcare outcomes.

“Harnessing technology to serve citizens throughout North Dakota’s rural
and urban communities is a priority, and these enhancements to the
state’s Health Information Exchange are a great example of the improved
data and information sharing enabled by the Amadeus platform,” said
Shila Thorson, North Dakota Health Information Technology director. “By
continuing to improve secure access to medical records and expanding the
type of clinical communications that can be shared, we will be helping
healthcare stakeholders and patients make more informed and timely
healthcare decisions.”

Amadeus is an open and scalable platform for population health and
precision medicine that delivers a comprehensive approach to acquiring,
enriching, analyzing and presenting actionable clinical and claims data,
as well as non-traditional data. With the platform, healthcare
organizations have a solid foundation to execute population health
management programs, support new and emerging value-based care models
and prepare for precision medicine.

“HIE priorities are shifting as patients and providers have begun to
realize the benefits of health data sharing. Now the more advanced HIEs,
such as NDHIN, are looking at how to take it to the next level with
additional tools for enhanced analytics, proactive notifications and new
data types,” said Chad Peterson, vice president of public sector
solutions at Orion Health. “We’re honored to expand our relationship
with NDHIN as they enter this next phase in their evolution by providing
them with the foundation needed to improve medication management and
care coordination, as well as prepare them to tackle tomorrow’s
healthcare challenges head on.”

Electronic health topics including the NDHIN will be discussed at the
North Dakota Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society
(HIMSS) event in Bismarck, ND on June 17, 2019. To learn more about

About North Dakota Health Information Network

The North Dakota Health Information Network (NDHIN) is dedicated to
improving healthcare by creating a secure medical record sharing network
for providers and consumers. The NDHIN simplifies the medical record
sharing process, creating a roadmap of data for a more thorough
understanding of patients’ conditions, allowing for up-to-the-minute
decisions and faster diagnoses. This helps reduce patient intake time,
minimizes duplicate tests and paperwork, and gives providers more
one-on-one time with patients.
