NextGen Healthcare Celebrates 2019 National Health Center Week

Ambulatory technology solutions leader recognizes six of the nation’s community health centers

IRVINE, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#NHCWNextGen Healthcare, Inc. (NASDAQ:NXGN), a leading provider of ambulatory-focused technology solutions, will celebrate National Health Center Week from August 4 – 10, honoring community health centers (CHCs) and federally qualified health centers (FQHCs) and their clinical teams for providing affordable care to medically underserved communities. Through its National Health Center Week Program, NextGen Healthcare will award $500 to six CHCs, as well as deliver toiletry care packages to four CHCs that provide care to the homeless.

John Wesley Health Centers is among the CHCs NextGen Healthcare is recognizing. The CHC has a longstanding commitment to improving the health status and well-being of underserved segments of the Los Angeles population through the direct coordination of healthcare, health education, services and research. To support its mission to increase access to high quality healthcare, the organization utilizes NextGen® Enterprise EHR, NextGen® Enterprise PM, QSIDental® PM and NextGen® Share.

“We sought a technology innovator in our quest to improve clinical operations to better care for our patients. NextGen Healthcare is the technology backbone of our medical and dental clinics. Their practice management solutions have dramatically enhanced how we deliver care to the community,” said Jon Dang, Chief Information Officer at John Wesley Health Centers.

According to the National Association for Community Health Centers, CHCs serve more than 28 million patients across the United States. This number continues to swell as the demand for affordable primary care increases. During National Health Center Week, NextGen Healthcare executives will recognize CHC partners for their commitment to providing high-quality care to those in need, including the Colorado Coalition for the Homeless, Yakima Neighborhood Health Services and John Wesley Health Centers.

“When you witness the care John Wesley Health Centers provides for homeless patients using our technology solutions, you can’t help but be inspired,” said Rusty Frantz, NextGen Healthcare president and CEO. “We celebrate John Wesley Health Centers’ dedication, caring and hard work, and applaud all 1,400 other CHCs in the US that are also providing quality care to their patients. We’re proud to be the preferred technology partner for nearly half of all CHCs.”

The Health Resources & Services Administration reports that state-based Primary Care Associations (PCAs) play an instrumental part in supporting today’s CHCs, as they help create economies of scale, maximize the federal Section 330 investments, monitor policy and regulatory environments, and assist in adapting to changing healthcare demands. PCAs also help CHCs interface with governors, Medicaid directors and state health departments to identify the best approaches for CHCs in meeting constituent needs.
