Financial Assistance From The Assistance Fund Now Available for Eligible People Living With Biliary Tract Cancer

ORLANDO, FL / ACCESSWIRE / July 31, 2023 / The Assistance Fund, an independent charitable patient assistance organization that helps patients and families facing high medical out-of-pocket costs, today announced the launch of a new copay assistance program for people living with biliary tract cancer. The program is designed to help eligible individuals pay for their out-of-pocket medical expenses related to biliary tract cancer, such as copays, coinsurance, and deductibles.

Biliary tract cancers impact the gallbladder, bile ducts, and ampulla of Vater.[1] The cancers are difficult to diagnose; by the time symptoms like jaundice, fatigue, and belly pain appear, the cancer has advanced.

“Because reaching a diagnosis can be so difficult for people living with biliary tract cancers, ensuring their immediate access to the treatment is critical,” said Danielle Vizcaino, President and CEO at The Assistance Fund. “Our Biliary Tract Cancer Copay Assistance Program will remove the financial hurdles of this process for so many patients and their families and will allow them to focus on improving their health.”

“As a family member of someone who faced a biliary tract cancer diagnosis, I am intimately familiar with how daunting the journey is to finding the right treatment and navigating access to it,” said Stacie Lindsey, Founder & CEO of the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation. “With the launch of its Biliary Tract Cancer Copay Assistance Program, The Assistance Fund has forged a path for hundreds of patients to get the treatment they need and the improved quality of life it will bring.”
