Dr. Hannah-Shmouni is an esteemed Canadian endocrinologist as well as geneticist, author, investor, and clinical professor of medicine at the University of British Columbia, who has centered his career around precision medicine in hormones, wellness, and healthy aging. Dr. Hannah-Shmouni’s mission and values align perfectly with S&H as the company uses evidence-based practices to transform human life and enable humans to age beautifully.
In this role, Dr. Hannah-Shmouni’s expertise will strengthen S&H’s gender-neutral practice in treating hormone imbalances. This includes testosterone replacement therapy, growth hormone therapy, bioidentical hormone therapy, and weight loss, as Dr. Hannah-Shmouni’s main subject of study – endocrinology – concerns the system that is the source of many of the symptoms S&H treats.

Prior to this role, Dr. Hannah-Shmouni served the National Institutes of Health in Bethesda, Maryland as a physician-scientist in endocrinology and genetics in the role of Head of Graduate Medical Education and Associate Program Director of the endocrinology and metabolism fellowship program. His research interests remain on precision medicine in endocrinology, including disorders of the adrenal glands. He has authored over 100 original articles, book chapters, and reviews on endocrine-genetic conditions, and was the founding member and first Editor-in-Chief of the medical journal Endocrine and Metabolic Science (Elsevier). He is the editor of the book, “Familial Endocrine Cancer Syndromes: Navigating the Transition of Care for Pediatric and Adolescent Patients”, and the founder of Healthspan, a precision medicine clinic focused on delivering the most advanced diagnostics in hormone health.
